The Irishman took three-year-olds Ashra Jahre and Expat to front-running victories for his Warwick Farm-based boss at the country meeting held on the Newcastle course proper.
Expat, a $3.80 favourite, made it two wins in three career starts in the class 1 handicap over 1250 metres. Sherry stole a break at the top of the straight and Expat held on by a quarter of a length from the fast-finishing Media Starguest.
"She ran well the other day and I think she appreciates the cut out of the ground," Sherry told Sky Thoroughbred Central.
"The boss does a wonderful job placing them in types of races like this and she was really good. She jumped well and travelled very kindly and let down very strong.
"She was tough when the other horse came to her, she picked it up and pulled it out of the bag.
"She's building a nice record so hopefully she can go on with it."
Ashra Jahre had an easier time out in front, powering to a two and a quarter-length win in the benchmark 58 handicap over 1200m for a second victory in nine starts.
Sherry hoped the raw talent would gain confidence from the performance.
"She jumped the gates really good and mustered very quickly," Sherry said.
"The plan wasn't really to lead. It was to be in the first four but she jumped so well and travelled so kindly in the run and really let down when I asked her for an effort in the straight.
"It was the best feeling she's given me. We thought a lot of her as a two-year-old and hopefully she can just keep building now."
