Mason has Suzie Nismo in the 1-3 wins 400-metre 5th grade final after she claimed her heat by a length in 22.57 seconds. It gave her three wins in eight starts and two from two at the trip.
However, the Jason Mackay-trained Impress Troy has won three from four starts and ran 22.19 in his heat win.
"She's drawn really well [in two] and I think last week was her best run," Mason said of Suzie Nismo. "She got herself under a little bit of pressure and chased really well. She's got a pretty quick run there and we think she can improve on that.
"Jason's is the big worry. That's for sure. He will be very hard to beat."
Mason also has Sonic Nismo, a winner of seven from 11, stepping up to 450m in the fifth. Another debuting at 450m in the race is the Michelle Lill-trained More Sauce, which has seven wins from nine starts.
"Sonic Nismo wouldn't be far off the good sprinters anywhere but we've drawn against More Sauce and its sections are near-record," Mason said.
His other runner, Bonnie's Reward, has box six in race seven.
"That's hard for a young animal like her and she's unlucky not to have won two by now," he said.
"She's a good little chaser. She just probably needs to improve a little as well but we think she can.
"They couldn't be better going into it.
"But that dog of Jason's, it's going to be a world-beater, and we've struck it and More Sauce."
