Blue Bronte won last Friday at The Gardens over 400 metres, extending her streak at the track to nine and going to 12 wins in her past 13 starts.
However, her time of 22.65 seconds was down on recent runs, which had been challenging the track record of 22.32.
Branxton trainer John Miles said Blue Bronte was injured in the race, which she won by three-quarters of a length.
"You would have noticed she ran a bit slower in her last win," Miles said.
"She dislocated a toe and also hurt her hip, because she probably would have been favouring that.
"It will be at least a month before we can put her back into work."
Miles also trains 272m Gardens track record-holder Laurie's Flyer, which went to 10 consecutive wins with success at Gosford last Tuesday despite a minor injury.
"He's going all right," Miles said.
"He also got himself a little bit hurt but it won't take long to fix him."
He said Laurie's Flyer would likely be set for a title defence in the Richmond Cannonball.
At The Gardens on Friday, the Jason Mackay-trained Impress Lleyton made it seven wins in a row with a tough victory over the Darryl Thomas-trained Barbaresco.
The track has a 10-race card on Saturday from 5.39pm.
