The four artists, Jenny McCracken, Rudy Kistler, Zac Craig and Leo Uribe, have been busy putting the final touches on the art on Friday, ready for visitors to go on walking tours on Saturday and pose with the art.
The works are part of Chalk The Walk, which is being held in conjunction with City of Newcastle's New Annual festival, which runs until February 21.
Incredible 3D pieces can be seen at the Visitors Info Centre, Market Street Lawn, Laman Street and the corner of Crown and Hunter streets.
