A POLICE officer has allegedly been punched in the face while trying to arrest man at a property in Windale.

Police were called to the property on Wakool Street about 7pm Sunday to reports of a domestic violence incident.
A senior constable approached a 25-year-old man at the scene, but he allegedly resisted arrest before hitting the policeman in the face.
According to police reports, more officers stepped in to restrain the man but he continued to resist before allegedly spitting in the face of a male acting sergeant at the scene.
Officers deployed OC spray before arresting the man and taking him to Belmont Police Station.
He was charged with multiple offences including two counts of assault police, and one count each of resist arrest, destroy/damage property and stalk/intimidate intend fear physical harm (DV).
He was refused bail and is due to appear at Belmont Local Court on Monday.
The senior constable attended Belmont Hospital for medical treatment and observation following the assault.
