Announcing the new regional platform, Committee for the Hunter chair Richard Anicich AM said that it was vital the committee engaged with youth and advocated for the issues that mattered to them.
"Our board and members have an important role in helping build capabilities in the leaders of tomorrow, and it's good for our organisation's culture and diversity," Mr Anicich said.
The Committee for the Hunter signed up to the Greater Newcastle Youth Employment Charter in 2020.
In convening the Youth Committee, it says it is delivering on its promise to expand opportunities for local youth.
The Youth Committee will have up to 13 members aged between 15 and 30, with representatives from each of the 10 LGAs in the Greater Hunter.
Details at hunter.org.au. Applications close March 15.
