The Nick Foster-led side made it back-to-back titles with victory over Riverina in Sunday's final at Goulburn and Burley, while encouraging his troops to soak up the achievements over 2019-2020 and 2020-21, can't see why they can't challenge to make it three titles in a row.
Newcastle have recorded trifectas twice during the last two decades, the first between 2004-05 and 2006-07 followed by 2008-09 to 2010-11.
"Without looking too far ahead I'd like to see this group have another crack and I think they are good enough to do that," Burley said.
"The competition is only getting stronger and we saw that at the carnival [preliminary rounds] on the Central Coast last year.
"But when we sit down at the start of next season that will certainly be the goal [three titles in a row]."
Burley praised the efforts of his players from this campaign, which started with training in August, also included the T20 Regional Bash series and has now wrapped up six months later.
It was also the first time anyone in Newcastle's 13-player squad have clinched crowns in consecutive seasons.
Foster (7), recently recalled Jeff Goninan (5), Ben Balcomb (4), Brad Aldous, Nathan Hudson and Jed Dickson (3) have all experienced success multiple times while Adrian Chad, Daniel Arms and Jacob Montgomery were there 12 months ago.
Ryan Van Kemenade, James King and Dan Bailey are first-time winners while Aidan Cahill made his debut in the decider.
"It's great to go back-to-back," Burley said.
"It's the first time anyone here has done that even though some of the guys have won it before.
"So it's pretty special. I know how hard they work and how much they give up to be part of it. We've been training since August to reach this goal.
"I'm very proud of them and it's well deserved."
Chad received the Mark Curry Medal for player of the final after taking match-best figures of 5-25 off his 10 overs at Seiffert Oval.
The Toronto skipper earlier scored 14 runs as part of Newcastle's best partnership, 52 for the sixth wicket with fellow Bush Blues representative Van Kemenade (33).
Riverina (121) were dismissed 67 runs shy of Newcastle (188) in the 50-over showdown.
Newcastle have now won the state tournament on 17 occasions since 1986-87, featuring five of the last eight trophies.
