Newcastle police are investigating a car fire, which broke out at The Junction in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Officers and emergency services were called to the scene around 2.40am after reports a black Mercedes van had caught alight in the driveway of a residential address.
Firefighters arrived and quickly extinguished the blaze, which caused some damage to the garage door of the residence.
Police established a crime scene and investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing.
A spokesperson said no one in the home was injured, with those inside woken in the night to a popping sound.
Anyone who may have information about the incident have been urged to contact Newcastle Police or CrimeStoppers on 1800 333 000.
