BEACH WATCH

Surf conditions are looking like remaining small again today. Lighter winds so cleaner waves which will be best on the morning and afternoon lower tides. Mainly shorebreaks on offer and breaks on inner reefs on high. Swells straightened up to the S/E at around 1m. Wind light and variable S/W to S/E tending East during afternoon. Contest break at Merewether is off the rocks and occasional shorebreak which will fill towards high tide. Banks at South Bar and Newcastle Beach. Redhead, Frenchmans and Moonie to the south. Buribi and Samurai up at Port Stephens. Cooler current and waters beginning to clear. Swim at Patrolled beaches and water temp 18C. - Dave Anderson
