Bluewater Cruising Yachts is one of the last boat builders in the Hunter Region and the proud Australian builder of the Bluewater 420.

The Bluewater 420 is a true ocean going, live-aboard yacht that can take you safely around the world, making those passage miles comfortably and in safety.

Situated in Cardiff, David Bradburn and his team of shipwrights, cabinet makers and apprentices relocated from Sydney's outer west some 25 years ago to be closer to Lake Macquarie.

"Marmong Point Marina has been the location for launching our Bluewater 420s, and the Lake has been a fantastic testing waterway for our yachts to commission the boats and test all the systems before hand over to the customers," David said.

The Bluewater 420 comes in two versions: Raised Saloon or Centre Cockpit, and the starting price is $684,500.00 plus GST.

If you prefer something a little smaller and more affordable, Bluewater have launched a new 20ft gaff-rigged trailer sailer to the market.

The beautiful Cygnet 20 features water ballast, a carbon fibre rig requiring only 15-minute setup, is light to tow, sleeps four comfortably and sails well in light and strong conditions. Sailaway price starts from $55,880 plus GST.

"The Cygnet 20 is a fantastic entry level yacht for those new to sailing," David said.

"So far Bluewater have sold a total of 28 Cygnet 20s throughout Australia and we have three in Lake Macquarie. With the build number on the rise the Gaff Association has also been formed to "raid" on Australian waterways such as Hawkesbury River, Hunter River, Myall Lakes, Lakes Entrance, Lake Burley Griffin to name a few.

"So if that sounds like something you would enjoy being a part of get onboard and join the Bluewater Family."

If any of these yachts interest you call into the factory where David and his team can show you the moulds, tour boats on the build, meet the staff who build them and take you out for a sail on our beautiful Lake Macquarie.
