Originally a basketball player, the Cardiff 18-year-old is now gracing the national stage as part of the women's sevens program.
Waldron describes the code switch as "surreal" and she again represents newcomers the University of Newcastle this weekend, but it will be on home soil with No.2 Sportsground helping to host round two of the 2021 competition.

"We're here to show all the other teams we mean business," Waldron, who also plays 15-a-side for the Hunter Wildfires, said.
"It's super exciting to play in front of a home crowd and to have that extra support behind us."
Aon Uni 7s preliminary games take place Saturday with Newcastle meeting Adelaide (10:20am), Canberra (12pm) and Sydney (1:40pm). Play-offs follow Sunday from 9am with a final set for 12:40pm.
