The former Australian Schoolboys representative, who has played three NSW Cup games this year, will don the blue and gold jersey for the first time since 2017.
"After spending last year as a development player [Knights] and being in the NRL bubble and not getting a game at all in 2020, he [Huth] is very keen to play footy and to put the Lakes colours back on means a lot to him," Payne said.

Payne didn't reveal what role Huth would play against Wyong at Morry Breen Oval on Saturday but he could share duties with established No.9 Daniel Peck or slot into the halves.
Lakes recruit Jake O'Meley will be up against his old club. The Seagulls, who were washed out in the first round, went down 54-4 to The Entrance last start.
Also in round three Newcastle RL leaders The Entrance will again have the services of younger NZ Warriors players despite the NRL this week lifting an embargo on top-30 squad members returning to Queensland Cup.
Sunday sees The Entrance host Kurri Kurri at Edsacc Oval, Wests at home to Macquarie at Harker Oval and Central away to Souths at Townson Oval.
Maitland and Cessnock, both trophy holders from separate competitions last season, meet at Maitland Sportsground on Saturday.
