Vanessa Turton is obsessed with bright colours and feelings. This is what holds her solo exhibition The Emotional Laundry at Onwards Studio together. Turton will be exhibiting 100 collages made from her vintage book collection and series of colourful figurative paintings.
"The collages were heaps of fun to make," she says. "After a while, subtle themes started to emerge around politics, gender and social issues that concerned me during the past six months that I have been making, as well as lighter-hearted images that are a bit creepy and fun. The paintings are more about feelings. You know, those intense feelings that you can't find words for."
