ABBEY Harkin and Tristan Hollard claimed national titles over the weekend to cap off a successful campaign for Hunter products at the Australian Swimming Championships on the Gold Coast.
Harkin, a former Maitland schoolgirl now based in Brisbane, won the women's 200 metre breaststroke final on Sunday in a time of two minutes, 25.26 seconds. She edged out Jenna Strauch by 0.28 seconds.
Just 24 hours earlier Hollard, a former Hunter Valley Grammar School student, produced a personal best time of 1:56.40 to add the men's 200m backstroke to his breakthrough gold clinched in the 100m.
Harkin also picked up breaststroke medals in the 100m (silver) and 50m (bronze) disciplines during the first three days of the carnival.
Saturday saw Merewether's Meg Bailey finish third in the women's 200m individual medley and fourth in the 100m butterfly. She had already collected silver in the 400m IM and bronze in the 200m butterfly.
Olympic trio Cate Campbell, Kyle Chalmers and Ariane Titmus also won races on Sunday ahead of the Tokyo trials in Adelaie in June.
Next up is the Sydney Open (May 13-16).
