Sisters Savannah and Briony Osei have built an impressive live reputation in recent years through performances at Falls, Splendour In The Grass, Listen Out and Groovin The Moo music festivals.
But last November marked a turning point when they released their party track Come Along, inspired by Ghanaian music, which has since attracted 1.6 million streams on Spotify.
The follow-up single Bus Stop, released on Thursday, also features a nod to Kinder's family roots.
The song is based on their father Kofi's fictional tale about a character who can't get off "African Time".
"On this track we wanted to explore a darker, late-night energy that we thrive on at our live shows," Kinder says.
"Once we found a beat with the right attitude, the melodies and words flowed effortlessly. Similar to the lyrics in the song, we had "no shame" when writing this, we just let the song run wild."
The Junkyard show will kick-off Kinder's national Bus Stop tour, which visits Melbourne, Sydney and Hobart, before they return home for Fresh Produce at the Maitland Showground on August 28.
Kinder are also booked to play Queenstown's Snow Machine Festival in September.
