The incidents left a man with facial injuries and a youth held at knifepoint on a major arterial road.
Police said a 23-year-old man was sitting in the park at Lexington Parade about 2.15pm on Saturday when three men approached him.
The group, who were unknown to the man, demanded his phone, wallet and backpack. He was then punched in the face.

The trio left the scene before one of the men approached a youth, 15, on Park Avenue.
Police said the man threatened the teenager with a knife, demanding his phone before fleeing with the other two men involved in the prior incident.
Both incidents were reported a short time later, sparking an investigation.
Anyone who may have seen or heard anything in the Kotara area between 2pm and 2.45pm on Saturday, or anyone who may have mobile phone or dashcam footage is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
