The Jaffas expected to lose Waller for the season as he focused on his studies but a change in his plans opened the door for coach James Pascoe to bolster his squad, who are second on the NPL ladder with four wins in five games.
Pascoe said Waller was a "very handy" addition. He said rumours Mitch Oxborrow was returning in the window were incorrect.
The Jaffas start their FFA Cup campaign on Wednesday night (7pm) against Bolwarra-Lorn and Pascoe said he had a fully fit squad to choose from. He expected to field a stronger than normal side for the early round match.
"Because we had the weekend off, we might play a few more of the boys than we normally would, in lieu of a training session," he said.
Other games on Wednesday are Maitland hosting Singleton (7pm) at Cooks Square Park and Valentine taking on Minmi Wanderers at LMRFF (8pm).
On Tuesday, Newcastle Olympic defeated Cooks Hill 6-1 at Darling Street Oval, Adamstown downed Newcastle Suns 5-1 at Connolly Park, Broadmeadow beat Kotara South 4-0 at Magic Park, Lake Macquarie defeated Westlakes 7-1 at Macquarie Field and Weston accounted for Mayfield United 8-0 at Weston Park.
Luke Vallone bagged three goals for Olympic, who also had Jed Hornery, Kane Treble and Tom Curran on the scoresheet. For Magic, Keanu Moore, Jayden Stewardson, Tom Parkes and Jon Griffiths scored. Jarryd Sutherland got five for Weston.
Adamstown's scorers were Will Gallagher, Alex Mulrooney, Dane Lawther, James Lowe and Nathan Toby.
