Moore has been suspended for the past six matches for his part in a post-game altercation but he is clear to return in the NNSW last eight match at Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility at 4pm.

Magic have powered on in his absence to sit second in the NPL on 23 points after 10 rounds. They also fought back to beat Edgeworth in an extra-time thriller to make the last eight in the cup section.

Coach Damian Zane said Moore would be a welcomed addition, given the possibility of Broadmeadow backing up midweek to play the winner of the Belmont Swansea versus Weston match in the last four of the cup.

Two teams move through to the round of 32.

"It will be good and it's a nice game for him to come back," Zane said of Moore.

"It will give him a good blow-out before the weekend [in the NPL]."

Jarred Baker missed Magic's 4-1 win over Lake Macquarie with a groin complaint last week but Zane said that was only precautionary.

Newcastle Olympic face the challenge of taking on NPL leader Lambton Jaffas in the last game at LMRFF on Saturday (6.30pm)

Striker Ryan Griffiths is in doubt after missing last week's 2-0 loss to Adamstown with a hamstring problem.

Coach Joel Griffiths did not expect to have his brother available for the game.

"I don't think he'll be right but he said he's going to give it a go," he said.

"We're struggling for numbers. But it's just one of those things. We've just got to battle.

"We were poor against Adamstown and we were beaten by a better team, as simple as that."

Captain and midfield linchpin Rhys Cooper (facial fractures) is another key player still sidelined.

"It's not ideal, but it's not an excuse either," Griffiths said. "It's still 11 versus 11 against a team that had won one game, so we were poor.

"But these occasions are pretty good and the boys are hopefully up for it this time. Jaffas are flying at the moment so we have to be at our best to get anything out of it. It's going to be a big ask."

Jaffas will be without Luke Remington (ankle) and likely Michael Kantarovski (groin).

In the earlier matches at LMRFF, second-tier Belswans play Weston (11am) and Coffs City take on Lake Macquarie (1.30pm). There are no NPL matches this weekend.

Meanwhile, the A-League clubs' first-ever FFA Cup final rounds play-offs have been pushed back to August.

Newcastle will play Western United and Perth Glory take on Melbourne Victory for a place in the round of 32.

The games were to be played between June 11-14, but because of COVID-19 restrictions in the Melbourne lockdown, the games will be held before the commencement of the round of 32, between August 7-8.

The play-offs between the bottom four A-League clubs is a new feature of a revamped Cup competition.
