Kiwi reinsman Trainor, who started his Australian career in the Hunter, led the state drivers' title with 76 winners heading into the meeting.
He cruised to a 21.3-metre win with $1.35 favourite Dibaba, which he has now trained to 11 victories in 12 starts since she joined his Menangle stable from Western Australia.
McCarthy leads the NSW and metropolitan trainers' standings, sitting on 61 statewide before American Flyer saluted at Newcastle.
Fourth when first-up in Australia at Newcastle on May 21, the Kiwi mare blitzed the field from out in front on the way to a 26.2m victory on Friday night as the $1.22 favourite.
It was also a good night for the locals, with Miss Piggy Wiggy taking out the last for Louth Park trainer Mel Elder and her brother, Brad, who steered the $1.55 favourite.
East Maitland trainer Rob Hosking snr and Maitland reinsman Peter Hedges won race seven with My Classy Mate ($5).
Morisset trainer-driver Mark Callaghan claimed the third race with Hidden Delight ($8).
