And he reckons some of them wouldn't look out of place in the NSW Gen Blue squad.
Hunter held on to beat Central Coast 14-7 in the final of the NSW Country championships at Tamworth on Sunday, despite playing 55 minutes with no substitutes and having a second-rower cover on the wing.
"There is certainly some talent in the group," said Davidson, who is a NSW Rugby Union development officer. "I have coached a lot of other country-based colts sides and the blessing that Hunter had was the quality across the park. We didn't need to do any skill work. It became about teaching the boys how we want to play and letting them design their own attack and defensive shapes."
The NSW Country side, which is expected to be announced this week, will play Queensland Country on the Gold Coast next month.
"Australian under-19 selectors will be at that match," Davidson said.
"The boys are eligible for the Gen Blue side and the Australian Barbarians to compete at the under-19 Rugby Championships. None of them would be uncomfortable at the next level."
Hunter took 16 players, including five who had been in the Hunter Wildfires program which fell over, to the Country titles.
"The Hunter under-18s were at the State Championships in Sydney," Davidson said. "We picked up a local Tamworth kid who we put on the wing and he played every minute.
"It was a great team effort. I feel bad singling out individuals.
"Matt Bags was our captain and a great leader. Rory Ryan was vice captain and our nine. He knows exactly what he wants and is a good vocal leader in that respect. We had a few unsung heroes who did the hard work. Fossie Bradford (breakaway) and Hamish Heeney (centre) had really good tournament.
"Taine Marchant (lock) was a machine. I'd Hate to be playing against him. Outside centre Josh Fisher (Greens) is another one and our 10 Luke McDean ... it was an extremely easy program to be part of."
In the round robin, Hunter beat Far North Coast (20-0), New England (17-0) and Central Coast (10-0), with the only loss a 21-7 defeat to Illawarra.
They met Central Coast again in the final.
"We lost Hamish Heeney to a knee injury and James Nichol with a head knock in the opening five minutes," Davidson said. "Fly-half Luke McDean also got a yellow card for a high tackle in the first half. It was a gallant effort. Connor Brett from Maitland is a second-rower and had to play on the wing.
"The boys had a lot of challenges thrown at them and not once did they back down or give themselves any excuses."
