Central Coast clubs Wyong and The Entrance are directly impacted by stay-at-home orders until next Friday (July 9) which automatically rules them out of playing this weekend.
Other teams have players, coaching staff or volunteers affected by COVID-19 regulations because of work, residential address or recent visits to areas listed in public health orders.
This saw Sunday's catch-up game between Lakes and Wests at Cahill Oval called off.
Newcastle RL chief executive officer Charlie Haggett said this week they will have to explore options, which include splitting some competition points, and determine how much room there is left to move in the 2021 schedule.
"Central Coast games will be off," Haggett said.
"Our other problem is some clubs have players who live on the Central Coast and can't come here to train or play. Hence, Lakes v Wests being cancelled today.
"We will have to make a call on rescheduling the games or counting them as a draw and both teams get a point each."
Following a second representative window on the weekend, Newcastle defeating Canberra 48-8 in Maitland, there are no more spare slots in the current draw between now and the last round on August 7.
The top-five finals series concludes with a decider on the first weekend in September, with the premiers progressing to a new-look President's Cup program afterwards.
Wyong and The Entrance, both in a race to make finals on the edge of the top five, were due to respectively host Macquarie on Saturday and Central on Sunday.
Lakes, who have twice been postponed against Wests, are supposed to be away to Cessnock on Saturday.
Also in round 13 and Wests meet Kurri Kurri at Harker Oval on July 3 while Maitland visit Souths at Townson Oval on July 4.
The Bulldogs and Pickers went head-to-head at Kurri Sportsground on Sunday in what was a catch-up game from the season opener in March.
Maitland beat the hosts 34-6 to give them the outright lead on the ladder, two points clear of nearest rivals Central.
Kurri stay in a share of seventh spot, but just two points shy of the top five with six regular rounds remaining.
The Pickers conceded first before scoring 34 unanswered points, including a double to winger Perry Le Brocque.
Bulldogs prop Frank-Paul Nu'uausala was put on report late for a cannonball tackle.
