A MAN is fighting for his life and another has died after a light aircraft crash in the Hunter Valley.

Police, firefighters and paramedics were called to a property northwest of Singleton about 1pm on Sunday after reports a recreational vehicle had come down.
They arrived at the Old Goorangoola Road property in Goorangoola to find the body of a 40-year-old man.
Police said he was a passenger on the aircraft.
The pilot, who police said was 46 years old, was treated at the scene.
IN THE NEWS:
He was subsequently flown to North Shore Hospital by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service in a critical condition.
A report will be prepared for the coroner, and police have informed the Australian Sports Rotorcraft Association and Australian Transport Safety Bureau of the incident.
