Obviously, it's not ideal with the competition shifting base to Queensland and everyone forced to head north on Wednesday and into Covid hubs.
We haven't had a lot of time to plan things but we do what we have to do to keep the competition alive and I applaud the NRL for the way they have run things.
They have done a great job for us. They are doing absolutely everything they can to make this work and as players, we've got to respect the protocols we have in place so they can keep looking after us.
To be honest, when the virus cases in Sydney started going up and getting out of control late last week, I fully expected the competition to be shut down again until the government got control of the situation again.
That was my gut feeling so while the new arrangements have been rushed in and we haven't had a lot of time to digest them, it's still a great outcome considering what could have been.
I must admit, as soon as they said 'relocate', I thought of my four kids and Chloe and what we were going to do. Thankfully, the NRL is really helping out there as well with all the families being looked after.
I sat down with Chloe and we talked it through. It's a big move because the kids are going back to school but if they don't come up, you don't know how long they are going to be away.
We spoke about them staying but they want to be a part of it and I want to have them close as well. I'd rather have my family there so I'm not missing out too much. I've got my kids' birthdays coming up as well and I've missed a few of those so I don't want to miss any more.
After the initial quarantine period is over, I think we drop down to level one restrictions so we can get out and do a bit which will be good and spend some time with the family when we're not training and playing.
I've got a feeling we are going to be up there for the rest of the season so for us, it was the best outcome. It's tougher for some of the other boys because their wives and partners have work to consider so it's more difficult.
I think most of the partners are going but there are a few having to stay behind because of their work situation.
So, the early part of the week for our family was getting everything sorted, everyone packed and making sure the house was all secure and our dog looked after.
As far as the inconvenience goes, there are a hell of a lot of people a whole heap worse off than us. There are a lot of other people around who are out of work and in Sydney in lockdown, so we can count ourselves very lucky.
It's important each and every one of us do all the right things and follow the protocols and do what we are told.
Our focus now is squarely on the Storm in Melbourne. I have a strong feeling we're ready to make a statement.
