KOOKABURRAS defender Matt Dawson will line-up against hosts Japan in Tokyo on Saturday as four of the Hunter's Olympic contingent start their respective campaigns in team sports across the weekend.

Dawson, fellow hockey player Mariah Williams and water polo duo Richie Campbell and Nathan Power are those donning the Australian uniform for round-one clashes on the first two days of the official Games period.
The number-one ranked Kookaburras tackle the home nation in the tournament opener at Oi Hockey Stadium from 10:30am (AEST).
"To be the first game of the Olympics against the host nation is something that in some ways, I think you dream of," former Kookaburras captain and Games gold medalist Mark Knowles told SEN radio.
The Australian men's hockey squad, including Norths product Dawson, then back up against India at the same venue on Sunday (7:30pm) before meeting Argentina on Tuesday (10:30am), New Zealand on Wednesday (10:15pm) and Spain on Friday (11am).
The Australian women's squad, better known as the Hockeyroos and featuring Souths striker Williams, have back-to-back encounters with Spain on Sunday (11am) and China on Monday (1:15pm).
Campbell and Power, part of the Sharks squad, take on Montenegro at Tatsumi Water Polo Centre on Sunday (4:30pm).
