CESSNOCK shooter Dan Repacholi remains "confident" ahead of his second event in Tokyo despite an "unlucky" showing to open his fifth Olympic campaign.

Repacholi will line-up with Australian teammate Dina Aspandiyarova in new Games category the mixed 10 metre air pistol at Asaka Shooting Range on Tuesday (10am, AEST).
This follows on from Saturday's preliminary round of the men's 10m air pistol, which saw Repacholi finish 30th and miss the top-eight final.
"Well my first event is over, unfortunately the score didn't represent how well I actually shot," he posted on social media.
"All I can say is I was very unlucky with lots of shots just out of the 10 ring. I wouldn't change a thing about how I went about my match.
"My next event is mixed teams on Tuesday. I can't wait. I'm confident in my performance today that I will go and shoot well."
Repacholi recorded a total of 568 from his 60 shots, with half being scored a maximum 10.
His best round, out of six, was last with 96. Earlier he went 95, 93, 95, 95 and 94.
This put Repacholi 10 points short of making the final (578) and 18 shy of the leaders (586).
Iran's Javad Foroughi eventually claimed the gold medal in the men's 10m air pistol with an Olympic record of 244.8 in the decider.
Serbia's Damir Mikec (silver) and China's Wei Pang (bronze) also made the podium.
