It comes following community feedback that despite assurances there is plenty of the COVID-19 vaccine available, many people are finding it difficult to secure an appointment.

Reasons include not knowing which practices are offering AstraZeneca to new patients, which doctors will vaccinate people aged under 60, and long waiting times for appointments.

The following list may grow as more practices add their names and details to the list via enquiries@huntergpa.org.

If you secure an appointment for an AstraZeneca vaccine at one of the practices listed below, and you are not a regular patient, the Hunter GP Association advises you to bring a "health summary" with you.

This should include a medical history, medication history, and allergies.

For people aged under 60, most practices will require you to have either discussed this with your own GP, or discussed it with one of their GPs.

Please check individual practice websites for booking details specific to that practice, particularly for those under 60.

The Belmont hub is also now taking bookings for AstraZeneca (AZ), with appointments to begin August 10.
