In an email to residents, family and the community, Bishop of Newcastle Dr Peter Stuart said the resident was transferred to hospital on August 12 due to her exposure to another resident who tested positive earlier in the week.
It comes after two other residents also tested positive to the virus after being tested on Wednesday.
All tests that were undertaken on site at Jesmond Grove on Thursday, 12 August have returned a negative result, Dr Stuart said.
Anglican Care said it was continuing to monitor the condition of the residents who are currently at a Hunter New England health facility and is in close contact with their families.
