The speedy wingback has signed a one-year deal with Scottish Premier league club St Mirren.
St Mirren sit second bottom on two points, ahead of pointless Livingston, after four rounds and are coming off a scoreless draw with St Johnstone.
Millar, who had two seasons in Newcastle, had been angling for a return to the United Kingdom after a he spent a three-month loan stint at English League 1 club Shrewsbury Town 12 months ago.

Town boss Steve Cotterill was keen to extend Millar's stay but baulked at the $50,000 transfer fee .
Millar, who contracted COVID-19 during his stay in England, struggled to recapture his game-changing form on return to Australia.
Shrewsbury Town climbed to finish 17th and Millar said at the end of the A-League campaign that they were among a host of clubs who had shown interest.
"The aim is to test myself again overseas," Millar said in June. "I just have to be patient."
New Zealand under-23 international Dane Ingham and veteran Jason Hoffman are the favourites to replace Millar at the Jets.
Millar in one of two new additions, alongside Ireland under-21 international Connor Ronan (Wolverhampton Wolves), signed by manager Jim Goodwin before the transfer deadline.
