Pringle snared a spot for Kevin Warby-trained A Paradigm Shift in the opening heat of the resurrected series at Newcastle Harness Racing Club on Friday night before also steering home It's Inevitable in the third.

"It's been a long-time coming, I've had some bad luck with that horse (It's Inevitable). Try and crack the final now," Pringle said.

Both winners automatically qualify for the $12,240 decider on September 24 along with heat-two victor Sky Diamond, prepared by Mark Callaghan at Morisset.

"He hadn't had a run for a month so hopefully that will top him off for the final," Callaghan said.

The Hawkesbury To Hunter series continue at Newcastle this Friday with last week's second-place getters - Favouritehighlight, Scotlynn Jiggs and Dancinginthedark - also a chance to advance depending on the number of upcoming heats.
