A teenage boy is dead and another in hospital with serious injuries after a stabbing in Lake Macquarie on Friday night.

The fatal incident occurred in Swansea about 8.20pm.
About an hour later police officers arrested a 16-year-old in Swansea and he was taken to Belmont police station.
Officers from Lake Macquarie Police District were called to a home and found two 16-year-old boys with stab wounds.
Ambulance officers treated the boys at the scene, but one of them could not be saved.
The second was taken to John Hunter Hospital, where he underwent surgery.
Investigations into the incident are continuing.
