That was the reaction of the Hunter cricketer on social media over the weekend after he helped Kent secure the English T20 title for the first time in 14 years.

The former University, Newcastle and NSW Country representative, who is set to fly the flag for Italy in T20 World Cup qualifiers next month, took 1-28 as part of a 25-run victory for the Spitfires against Somerset at Edgbaston on Sunday (AEST).

Kent, including a late two from No.8 Stewart, scored 7-167 before restricting their Vitality T20 Blast final opponents to 9-142 in reply.

Jordan Cox was the star of the showdown, having scored an unbeaten 58 off 28 balls and later providing an outstanding catch assist along the boundary line.

Joe Denly, Zak Crawley, Daniel Bell-Drummond, Sam Billings and Darren Stevens were also part of the Kent squad.

The Spitfires qualified for the final after winning a semi at the same ground earlier that day, beating Sussex by 21 runs.

Stewart made three in a total of 8-168, taking a catch and finishing with 0-15 as the Sharks were dismissed for 147.

The Spitfires last held the T20 trophy aloft in 2007 before being beaten in the final the following year.

It comes just a month after Merewether's Michael Hogan helped Glamorgan claim an English one-day title, defeating Durham in the 2021 final of the Royal London Cup at Trent Bridge.

Stewart, 27, made his first-class debut with Kent in 2017 and signed a contract extension in January last year keeping him at the county club until 2022.

He claimed his second five-wicket haul in Kent's most recent four-day outing against Derbyshire last week, finishing with match figures of 7-68. The Spitfires are due to host Middlesex this week.

Three years ago Stewart scored 103 and took eight wickets in the same game.

The Lorn product has previously won a NSW Country Championships title alongside older brother Luke, a Newcastle minor premiership and T20 crown with Uni as well as two Maitland grand finals and a Hunter Valley Cup with Norths.

Stewart represented the Bush Blues at an Australian Country Championships in Mount Gambier in 2015-16.
