The youth-orientated This That at Wickham Park is rescheduled for Saturday, February 26, followed by the more nostalgic Scene & Heard at the same venue on Sunday, February 27.
It promises to be a massive weekend of live music in the Hunter. Alt-country and Americana festival Dashville Skyline is also scheduled for February 25 to 27 after being postponed from the October long weekend.
Following the outbreak of the Delta strain of COVID-19 and the lockdown of the majority of NSW since August it was a foregone conclusion that the festivals would not proceed as scheduled on November 6 and 7.
Originally the festivals were planned for November 2020 but they were postponed to February 20 and 21, 2021 due to the pandemic.
LOOK BACK: What happened at This That 2019
Restrictions on mass gatherings were still in place in February this year, which resulted in the festivals being postponed to November.
"The This That team had every intention of bringing the festival to Queensland and New South Wales this year," This That organisers said in a statement.
"Unfortunately COVID is still trolling everyone hard and thanks (but no thanks) to Delta, This That is moving dates once again. The good news is that there is so much dancing and partying to look forward to, so this ultimate summer sesh is absolutely going to be worth the wait."
The This That line-up will remain almost identical with the addition of electronic Sydney producer Enschway.
The line-up also includes the already-announced Badrapper vs Luude, Client Liaison, Confidence Man, Crooked Colours, Dune Rats, Hayden James, Illy, Jack River, Kota Banks, Mallrat, San Cisco, Sycco, The Chats, Wafia and What So Not.
Newcastle punters have already snapped up 95 per cent of This That tickets and a one-week refund window is open through Oztix for ticket-holders who cannot attend the rescheduled date.
REVIEW: Look back at Scene & Heard 2019
The postponement of Scene & Heard to February 27 means indie-pop band Killing Heidi have been forced to withdraw from the festival, but the line-up still includes headliners Grinspoon, Regurgitator, Ratcat, Custard, Frenzal Rhomb, Cog and Caligula.
A two-week refund window is open through Oztix until October 6.
