Trained by Roy Roots jnr, formally based at Keinbah before relocating to the Central Coast, The Black Prince claimed this year's group 1 race at Newcastle International Paceway before finishing fourth in the $1 million Miracle Mile at Menangle on March 6.

The 2018 Newcastle horse of the year was put forward for the Inter Dominion by Roots jnr alongside stablemate Pitch Perfect.
Morisset's Mark Callaghan also carries dual runners in the pacers division courtesy of Royle Gamble and Laceys Lad while Adam Ruggari of Sawyers Gully has Mister Brazil in the mix.
East Maitland's Polly Downing listed Le Chatilier in the trotters section.
There were 167 nominations overall for the NSW-based series.
Heats are scheduled to get underway at Menangle on November 27 before more preliminary rounds at Bathurst (December 1) and Newcastle (December 5).
The final will be held in Sydney on December 11.
Meanwhile, Melanie Elder's Ashark returned to the winner's circle at Newcastle on Monday. Tom Ison saluted four times.
