New recruit Lucy Johnson is an attacking midfielder with an eye for goal.

The 22-year-old has settled into the Jets environment quickly and is determined to make the most of her debut season as an A-League Women's player.

Johnson joins the Jets from NPLW Victoria club South Melbourne keen to make her presence felt and told media last week she is here to score goals and to assist.

Jets coach Ash Wilson describes her as an "exciting talent" and expects Johnson to "add a bit more movement and attacking mindset from that midfield position."

"Lucy is a midfielder who has a good work-rate and likes to go beyond that front line," Wilson said.

"She's quite mobile. She likes to attack. Technically, she's very calm on the ball."

NH: What was your first club, and how old were you?

LJ: Lindfield Football Club. I would've been six.

NH: What do you do off the field?

LJ: I've just finished my degree in criminology. I haven't figured out what I want to do with that yet. I'm not working right now but in Melbourne I was working in aged care. Outside of that, just hanging out with friends, watching sport, particularly NBA, and taking the dog for a walk.

NH: What music is playing on game day?

LJ: Maybe some ABBA.

NH: What television series, if any, are you addicted to?

LJ: I loved Prison Break. At the moment I'm watching the classics like Love Island. I watch a lot of NBA. When I was younger I played a lot of basketball and I just really love watching it. AFL as well.

NH: What can't you live without?

LJ: Probably chocolate.

NH: Do you have any pre-match habits?

LJ: There's nothing I do in particular. I just like to chill out in the morning, maybe watch some sort of sport, like NBA, to get me in the zone.
