Goalkeeper Georgia Boric joins Newcastle this season keen to earn her league debut.
The former Junior Matilda has previously spent time at Canberra United without being given any game time and is excited to be returning to a top-level environment, where she wants to "push myself out of my comfort zone".
Jets coach Ash Wilson describes the 23-year-old as "an exciting prospect".
"As well as having desirable technical qualities, she is motivated to achieve and loves a challenge," Wilson said. "We expect her to bring that to the team and football environment."
NH: What was your first club, and how old were you?
GB: It was Woden Valley Soccer Club and I was maybe 10.
NH: What do you do off the field?
GB: I work at a school, Loreto Normanhurst, doing sports administration. I co-ordinate the rowing program. I was a rower in high school and did a bit at uni and I've also done surfboat rowing with Palm Beach Surf Club. I'm still at uni. I've done a bachelor degree in medical science and I am currently doing a masters of science in pharmaceutical and medical device development. I honestly don't have that much free time, but I am a keen surfer.
NH: What music, if any, is playing on game day?
GB: None particularly. I more like to have a bit of quiet of time, chat to the girls. I don't really like to get super-hyped up before games. It's better for me to be a bit calm, cool and collected.
NH: What television series, if any, are you addicted to?
GB: Bob's Burgers. It's a cartoon and it's great to just chill out to and turn my brain off a bit.
NH: What can't you live without?
GB: My mates.
NH: Do you have any pre-match habits?
GB: No. My superstition is probably that I don't want a superstition. I like to be able to roll with the punches.
