American Elizabeth Eddy joined the Jets last week as the second of two international signings for this season.
The 30-year-old Californian had two training sessions with her new club before playing the full 90 minutes in Newcastle's season-opening 3-1 loss to Sydney on the road last Saturday.
Eddy, who can play almost any position, comes to Newcastle on a loan deal from National Women's Soccer League side Gotham FC in New York and expects the experience to be "one of the most impactful seasons of my life".
"This season with the Jets, I want to win - win on the field and win off the field," Eddy said.
NH: How old were you when you first started playing?
EE: I started playing soccer when I was five years old. My dad was the head coach. We were the Yellow Bumblebees and it was so much fun.
NH: What do you do off the field?
EE: I love surfing. I grew up surfing and have already been out at Merewether. I am into creating things and businesses and I started a tech company a couple of years ago. I'm pretty tech based and into content creation. I studied business as an undergrad, focusing on business and entrepreneurship, then communications in grad school.
NH: What music, if any, is playing on game day?
EE: Sometimes I'll actually read a book in the change room, to be calm. I started streaming a lot of content lately, so I'll video my friends being playful because I think when you're having fun with your friends you play better. In New York, I did a lot of that with my team.
NH: What television series, if any, are you addicted to?
EE: All American.
NH: What can't you live without?
EE: My bible.
NH: Do you have any pre-match habits?
EE: I like to do no routine. That's my routine.
Eddy will be in action as the Jets chase their first points of the season against newcomers Wellington at McDonald Jones Stadium on Friday.
