Competing in the under-17 age group, Mason, 15, won gold in the men's 500-metre time trial, scratch race, keirin and sprint at the NSW Junior State Track Championships, held at the Dunc Gray Velodrome in Sydney.
He also claimed bronze in the men's points race, and with Matthew Drohan and Jake Pajt took bronze in the men's team sprint.
Mason was stoked with his results given he did not compete last year due to injury. His medal haul was also an improvement on the last state tittles he did compete in.
"I only walked away with two [gold] titles [in 2020], this time I've walked away with four. It's a big improvement," Mason said.
His performances earned him selection in the NSW team to compete at the 2022 National Track Championships in Brisbane beginning March 24. It will be the first national track titles Mason has competed in after the 2020 event he qualified for was cancelled due to COVID, likewise the 2021 titles.
Mason said he would focus on the 500-metre time trial and the keirin but would potentially compete in seven or more events.
"I'm just happy to go and do my best and see what happens," Mason, who is in year 10 at Maitland Grossmann High School, said.
Merewether's Liam Wilson claimed a medal in his debut at the state track titles, taking bronze in the under-19 men's sprint. Newcastle Hunter Cycling Club also claimed silver in the club team pursuit and in the under-17s women's team sprint.
