Captain Sophie Stapleford produced an individual hat-trick then provided the assist for two more goals as Maitland overpowered Newcastle Olympic 5-0 at Darling Street Oval in round two of National Premier Leagues Women Northern NSW on Sunday.

It was the second big loss in as many outings for Olympic, who were the 2020 champions and premiers and finished a close second in a COVID-shortened season last year.
Stapleford proved lethal from the set piece, scoring with a free kick from just outside the area in the seventh minute then converting from the penalty spot in the 32nd. She added another in the 47th before setting up Chelsea Greguric (54th) then Sophie Jones (60th).
Adriana Konjarski (nee Jones) produced a four-goal haul and Elodie Dagg a match brace as Warners Bay beat Mid Coast 6-0 at John Street Oval on Sunday.
Adamstown beat New Lambton 8-0 at Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility on Saturday night.
Kimmie Trappett and Mia Bales both scored match doubles while Ellen Hughes, Jemma Lawson, Kiarra Lewis and Jenna Doyle also got on the scoresheet.
Magic defeated round-one winners Charlestown Azzurri 3-1 at Allen Davis Field on Saturday. Broadmeadow's Lucy Jerram and Kirstyn Antoni scored either side of half-time before Tamara Nash got one back for Azzurri. But Jerram sealed the win with a goal from a corner in the 86th.
