Mr Bown returned to the aged care facility, where he was last seen this morning, at Bolton Point about 2pm.
Tuggerah Lake Police District officers have thanked the public for their assistance.
EARLIER
KEVIN Bown's family are extremely concerned about his whereabouts after the 70-year-old man went missing this morning.
Mr Bown was last seen at an aged care home at The Ridgeway, Bolton Point about 10:30am.
Tuggerah Lakes Police District officers immediately began a search for Mr Bown after he was reported missing by staff, and have urged members of the public to help find him.

There are concerns for Mr Bown's welfare due to existing medical conditions.
He is described as a man of large build, Caucasian appearance and grey hair and was last seen wearing a grey shirt, carrying a backpack and a Woolworths shopping bag.
Police report that he is known to frequent the Toronto area and a geotargeting alert message will be issued around there and Bolton Point.
Anyone with information about Mr Bown's whereabouts should contact Toronto Police Station on 4088 1099 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
