The Premier League club's announcement would appear to have ended Chelsea's hopes of signing the Brazil winger.
"We can confirm that an agreement in principle has been reached with FC Barcelona for the transfer of Raphinha," said a Leeds statement. "The player will now undergo a medical in Spain."
Chelsea had a reported bid of STG60 million ($A105 million) accepted by Leeds at the end of last month, but Raphinha looks set to switch to LaLiga after holding out for his dream move to Barca.
Arsenal also tried to make a late push in an effort to sign the player, but the Brazil international chose to join Barcelona, who finished second in LaLiga last season.
