Their sophomore album, The Catalyst Fire, is set for release on August 9. It follows the band's 2010 debut, This Is the Warning, which peaked at No. 2 on the ARIA charts.
The lead single from The Catalyst Fire, Lodestar, is out now and available via iTunes.
It's the first taste of the band's nine-month writing and recording stint with long-term producer and collaborator Forrester Savell.
The Brisbane boys are keen to show off a sound with a new level of maturity that still retains the energy and soaring intensity "DLC" are known and loved for.
The Catalyst Fire Tour will feature Closure In Moscow and Sleep Parade in support. It comes to Newcastle's The Cambridge Hotel on September 7.
Package deal for Baby Animals fans
BABY Animals will be filming shows on their next Australian tour for their first live DVD.
The Feed The Birds tour across Australia starts in Newcastle on October 12.
The tour will be filmed for the Feed The Birds (Live) DVD, to be released before Christmas.
Fans who pre-order the DVD with a ticket to the show will also have their name included in the closing credits and receive a signed copy one week before the official release date.
The band is offering 100 major packages to the tour, which include two tickets to a show, a signed DVD, a personal thank-you in the DVD credits, the live digital EP on November 18, a limited-edition tour poster and instant download of the new studio album This Is Not The End.

Gold Era rolls into town next month
THE 2013 Golden Era Roll Call Tour is hitting the road with a show in Newcastle next month.
The tour line-up includes Funkoars, Vents, Briggs and the record label's newest signee, K21. The shows also celebrate the launch of the 2013 Golden Era Mixtape - the third free release in as many years.
The tour will see the Golden Era artists perform tracks from the mixtape that would not normally be performed on the individual artists' tours, as well as new material and older classics.
The Golden Era Roll Call Tour touches down at the Cambridge on August 29.
Glass Towers recall halcyon days
SYDNEY four-piece Glass Towers are heading for Islington's The Small Ballroom next month.
Fresh from touring Britain and Japan and having their album Halcyon Days featured on Triple J, the band are heading on the road for a national tour.
The band's debut album follows the release of two acclaimed EPs, What We Were, When We Were (2011) and Collarbone Jungle (2012), which were written in the band's final days of high school.
Their debut album is described as an exploration of the band's youth, but this time from the perspective of a young man standing on the doorstep of adulthood, the band's Ben Hannam explained.
"The album is your invitation back into the heady rush of teenage days. Of lusting after the girl at that first house party, of escapism and endless weekends spent inside that girl's bedroom. Of roaming the suburbs at night in a state of permanent intoxication, drunk on pure life. Being young and beautiful, living for the moment and never wanting to grow up.
"The whole album is a form of dedication to that period of my life, my Halcyon Days."
Glass Towers play at The Small Ballroom on August 14.
Tribute to the kings of metal
BLACK Sabbath fans will be busy this weekend with what has been dubbed the Blackest Sabbath Show ever.
This tribute to the kings of metal, presented by a local line-up, brings the iconic 1970 album Paranoid to the stage.
Ngariki, Rob Bell of High Horse, Mac of Kamikazi Kowboyz and Jarrod Daunt of Backfire will join forces to perform the album track by track, with the addition of a few Black Sabbath classics.

Jazz here, there and underground
GET into jazz this month with NIMA (Newcastle Improvised Music Association) and Dungeon Jazz.
On Tuesday, the Andrew Dickeson/Adrian Mears Quartet will perform at The Grand Hotel Underground, Newcastle.
The following Tuesday, the Brandon O'Donnell Quintet performs.
