WHAT have we come to? We now allow shooting in national parks, but shut out mountain bikers and walkers accustomed to using Glenrock Recreation Area.
The article "Glenrocked" (Herald 31/7) mentioned that those trails in poor shape would be rehabilitated, but from the photos it appears more damage was done rehabilitating them.
I thought the photos were to show erosion problems, but no, that was the repairs.
What are the areas for if the public can't access them?
I am not a mountain biker nor a recreational walker, but I recognise when a decision made by a few is to the detriment of many.
We talk about health and fitness in the modern age of sedentary lifestyle but here we go preventing many from participating in their chosen outdoor sport. Madness.
