Directed and produced by Newcastle-born filmmaker Richard Todd, Frackman tells the story of Dayne Pratzky, an anti coal seam gas activist, and focuses on his protests against the expansion of the industry in Queensland’s Darling Downs.
The film is supported by anti-coal seam gas groups GetUp and Lock the Gate, and the screening will include information on switching energy from providers involved in the industry.
A question and answer panel after the film will include special guests Mr Pratzky, Naomi Hogan from The Wilderness Society in Newcastle, as well as members of mining affected towns in the Hunter Valley and Fullerton Cove.
The film is being screened at Tower Cinemas on King Street at 6.30pm on Friday. Tickets are $20, or $15 for concessions, and can be purchased online at www.frackmanthemovie.com/screenings.
