“Crack Theatre Festival was an entity that broke free of the Australian Young Writers’ Festival,” McDowell said.
It gained independence in 2009. Since then the festival has developed a reputation as a national platform for innovative artists presenting a vast range of experimental and inter-disciplinary work.
Its role is to support Australian artists by providing opportunities for discussion, skills development, and performance through the presentation of works at TiNA.
TiNA is a free festival of 190 events across 22 Newcastle CBD venues, from Thursday, September 29, to Sunday, October 2.
