The record takes a glorified view of drugs, led by the single Scott Green. While lyrically The Dune Rats continue to mine familiar ground, musically they have strengthened their sound from their 2014 debut. There’s less pop punk and more grunt. Less Frenzal Rhomb and more Sex Pistols. Braindead and Mary are hooky as hell and should be festival favourites when the boys headline Mountain Sounds next month. The Australian punk scene is sounding fertile.
