Nestled in between scenic hills and the Myall River, residents of the home enjoy equal opportunities for socialisation and relaxation in this idyllic setting.
Residents of the home stem largely from the local areas of Tea Gardens and Hawks Nest, however, the home also appeals to those dreaming of a country escape, rather than retirement living in city surroundings.
Close to the local shopping centre, bowls club and golf club, this home provides every comfort.
From light-filled lounge areas and contemporary décor to tranquil garden settings, residents enjoy a perfect combination of stylish living and home-like charm, along with the remarkable Tea Gardens community spirit which characterises the place.
By opening the home to local groups and arranging frequent outings and events, Estia Health Tea Gardens is building a very special community experience across the generations.
“Becoming older should not be synonymous with becoming isolated,” reflects Jennie Hodge, Client Relations Manager at Estia Health. “And residents of our Tea Gardens home are proving just that!”
Community interests groups frequent the residence at Tea Gardens, which is also home to the local Parkinson’s support group’s monthly meetings, as well as a very popular café and community hub.
And being a home that encourages an active and sociable lifestyle, residents enjoy visiting entertainment and activities, including music therapy, art classes, seated yoga, and fishing trips with their local club.
Most recently, the home opened a new mobility centre, which has become a very popular feature.
Under the guidance of the home’s visiting physiotherapist, results have proven that age is no barrier to keeping fit and enjoying regular social and bus outings to community events and the scenic surrounds.
Having lost some balance and mobility over recent years, resident at Tea Gardens, Noel, has made use of the home’s mobility centre with incredible results.
“Noel is one inspiring and determined man,” says Jenny Armstrong, manager of the home, in reflecting on the continuing effort Noel puts in. “And to see how committed he is to remain an active member of the community, is such an encouragement to us.”
The home is very eager to continue fostering its positive relationship with its local, valued community.
“One Family, where everyone belongs” stated Estia’s Tea Gardens Executive Director, Jenny Armstrong.
“That’s our Estia motto, and that’s exactly what we want our home to be.”
