The 25-year-old’s latest art exhibition was created in the wee hours of the morning while she was nursing her new-born baby Poppy.
‘‘I spent so much time awake with Poppy that I started sketching during the night in between feeds,’’ Griffith told The Word.
When it came time to transform the sketches onto canvas, Griffith often painted while carrying Poppy who would sleep in a baby sling.
‘‘Having a baby was a really powerful experience and I was glad I could record it,’’ Griffith said.
She said there was something moving and intimate about spending time with her child in those quiet and dark hours.
The result is her exhibition In The Night Garden, which is on display at the SOAG Gallery, Tighes Hill until February 27.
At age 13 Griffith starred with Vin Diesel in the movie Pitch Black. She has also appeared on All Saints and Home and Away and starred in countless commercials.
The young actress has juggled her acting career with being an artist and has held solo exhibitions in the Hunter and Sydney.
However she has focused more on painting lately because Poppy is still only 15months old and Griffith can work from home.
Raised in the Hunter Valley, Griffith currently lives with Poppy and her partner Ben Wollen in Bondi.
She has recently had paintings stocked at the Seeger Gallery in the Blue Mountains and The School House Gallery in Pokolbin.
Her paintings will soon be available at Butler Goode Gallery in Paddington.
