May made her name playing bad-ass blues-rock guitar, but the main weapons on Fruit are groovy bass lines and her soulful vocal. The Prince-inspired Are We Flirting? and ‘90s R’n’B flavoured Shake Ya Thing (On and On) are highlights.
Little wonder May opted to change the album’s original name from Bitchcraft to Fruit, because this is one juicy sweet record.
