
Hunter Academy of Sport (HAS) hosted the 2018 Your Local Club Academy Games at the end of April and the HAS recorded some great results.
The girls and boys basketball sides both won gold medals, playing exceptionally over the three days.
In surfing, Dominic Thomas, Ethan Hartge and Oscar Salt took the top three spots in respective order, while the girls almost mirrored the boys with Leila Salt second and Amelie Burke third.
The HAS hockey boys walked away with a gold medal and Chris Murray was awarded MVP. The girls placed fourth overall and the MVP went to Lily Burgmann.
HAS golfer Caleb Bromley was runner-up in the boys and Pyper Hollis came third in the girls.
In Netball, HAS Division 1 faced tough competition with four wins out of 10 games.

Charli Carroll was named the team’s merit player. Division 2 won five of their eight games with Maddison Mueller merit player.
Girls softball finished sixth, but the boys were awarded runners-up after a washout. Laia Pasini came first in the girls 16’s singles tennis, along with a win in the doubles with Kirra Morris.
Logan Paulson came third in the 14’s singles.
In the AFL, the boys played an exhibition match against Central Coast, ending in a very close loss of 13-12.
The girls team had big wins in all games, coming out on top of the competition.
