The recent increase in infrastructure spending across NSW is having a knock on effect for the local economy.

Newcastle based engineering firm Civmec has been contracted to help construct multiple Motor Operation Complexes for the for the New M5.

Part of the $16.8b WestConnex project, the New M5 will provide twin underground motorway tunnels, nine kilometres long, stretching from Kingsgrove to a new St Peters Interchange.

As part of their contract with the CPB Dragados Samsung Joint Venture, Civmec will deliver pre-cast components for multiple Motor Operation Complexes, including supply and exhaust shafts to assist with air circulation, a ventilation building and substation.

Civmec is no stranger to major infrastructure projects across New South Wales, with a state of the art facility located on the Hunter River. Their services cover precast concrete, heavy engineering and carbon piping.

And, thanks to the New M5 project, the company now has the opportunity to employee more skilled local workers.
